Welcome to pearl

Pearl Acupuncture is a Five Element Acupuncture practice in Putney and in Brattleboro, Vermont. Acupuncture is one aspect of East Asian medicine, a broad and enduring medical system used continuously for at least 3,000 years. Acupuncture can address recovery from acute concerns as well as attending to chronic or longstanding conditions. Five Element acupuncture is an elegant system of care which addresses issues on all levels simultaneously: body, mind, and spirit.

We practice acupuncture to help you elevate your quality of life.

Element TreatmenTs: Metal

I’m offering metal horary treatments between 3-7 am in late September-early October.

Metal horary treatments can help empower your relationship with time, with ‘both/and’, and with all the rhythms of life.

If you’re interested in receiving one of these special yearly treatments please use the “Questions” form below to reach out.

“Wait…what???”

Within the tradition of Five Element acupuncture there is a practice of offering an element-focused treatment during the time and season which resonate with that same element. These treatments are called “horary” treatments in reference to the timed aspect.

Everything is ruled by one of the five elements: water, wood, fire, earth, or metal. The season of autumn is ruled by metal. The times of day ruled by metal are 3-7 am.

Many people unfamiliar with the five elements find Metal the most suprising. Here are some other examples of metal manifestations: the color white, all minerals, justice, and pungent foods. Metal rules the lungs and the colon, so all activities involving either of these organs “are metal” as well.
