Sian knows a thing or two about healing. She attributes this to her 15 years of experience supporting domestic violence and sexual assault survivors. She has spent 10,000 hours (at least) alongside people going through the complex process of healing. The systems we have in place for those who have been abused are deeply inadequate. And yet, it was her role to help them navigate these systems. It was also her job to not just bear witness but averiguar what might be possible, plausible, and generative, for her clients.

A decade in, she was burnt out. She somehow found acupuncture and things started to click. Sian was lucky enough to find acupuncturist mentors (Thanks Sally! Thanks Deb!) and a Masters program designed for students who were working full-time. Now that Sian is in practice she sees that swimming upstream as an advocate taught her about the power of words, and energy, and intention. She humbly brings all of this expertise to her burgeoning acupuncture practice.

Sian is delighted by acupuncture's ability to help people embrace their sensitivity as a source of empowerment rather than viewing it as a vulnerability. And for those who feel dull or numb to life, acupuncture can restore a life-improving sense of connection. Acupuncture is both preventative and curative care. She is consistently amazed at the elegance of this system. She is grateful she gets to devote her life to it.

Sian also loves animals, history, and has an ever-renewing interest in avant-garde trends & ideas. This is the blend which drives her life. She instinctually moves towards creative and dynamic approaches to all the puzzles of being human.

Sian loves East Asian medicine because it is based upon careful observation of nature. Though life is change, the laws of nature remain constant. She finds this deeply comforting, and recognizes the necessity of comfort, of ‘something to hold on to’, for holistic health and well-being.

“Do you have the patience to wait

till your mud settles and the water is clear?

Can you remain unmoving

till the right action arises by itself?”
