Q: Do you take insurance?
A: Yes! We accept Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Providence Health. We are also credentialed through the ChooseHealthy Program and various American Specialty Health Group plans.
Q: How do I know if my insurance will pay for acupuncture at Pearl?
A: When you reach out for a consult, make sure to mention you’d like to pay for acupuncture through your plan. We will collect information about your insurance plan and do an eligibility check through the provider portal.
Q: How long will it take to find out if I’m covered?
A: Once we receive the information from you to request an eligibility check it will be submitted within 48 hours. Then, we wait to hear back from the insurance company. Though it can happen much sooner, plan on waiting two weeks.
Q: Can I come in before the insurance company replies to the eligibility check?
A: No. By law, providers cannot mix billing between insurance benefits and out of pocket for the same patient. This is meant to protect insurance patients, and to ensure that all medical professionals give fair treatment to patients regardless of how they pay.
Q: OK! I’m covered, and the insurance company verified. What now?
A: We will reach back out to schedule an appointment. You will be responsible for paying any applicable co-pay at each appointment via cash, check, or Venmo.
Q: You’re not covered by my insurance, but if I submit invoices then the company will reimburse me for a portion of the cost of services. Can you help with that?
A: Yes. We are more than happy to provide invoices detailing reason for treatment and methods of treatment. If you have United insurance then this may be one aspect of your plan! This may also be a benefit for other insurance plans.
