  • Seasonal Treatments

Seasonal Moxa Treatments: These treatments involve burning moxa (rolled mugwort) on or near specific acu-points. Burning moxa on or near points is called moxibustion, and it is a heat therapy which is useful for both preventative and acute treatment. Intentional moxa treatments can be particularly beneficial during certain times of year, like during the cold winter months or on the hottest days of the lunar calendar. This is preventative and restorative medicine which supports vitality.

Horary treatments: These acupuncture treatments involve inserting needles into specific points during a specific window of time, per season. This aligns with the lunisolar calendar and the “Chinese clock”, which outlines the times of day/night when energy flows through specific organs.

  • Cosmetic Acupuncture

Cosmetic acupuncture is acupuncture treatment with the goal of enhancing a patient’s beauty as it shines through their face, neck, and shoulders.

Treatment involves inserting needles all over the body, including the face and scalp. Needles used for the face are very thin and short. Once they are inserted, many people do not feel them at all!

Facial acupuncture is most effective in a series of regularly spaced treatments. This can be offered in conjunction with any other treatment, but is especially powerful in conjunction with facial gua sha.

  • Facial Gua Sha

Facial gua is a form of facial massage. It also incorporates acupressure. Facial gua sha involves rubbing, stroking, and strumming the neck and face with a specialized tool. While these tools can be made of various materials, the ones we use are made of nephrite and xiyuan jade. This type of treatment works to resolve tension patterns in the fascia & small muscles of the neck and head. It also can smooth the complexion, decrease appearance of fine lines, and restore vitality to the face.

  • Tuning Fork Acupressure

An especially good intervention for the needle-averse. This method of acupressure involves applying gentle pressure to various acu-points with the handles of specific tuning forks. We use a specialty tuning fork set which are calibrated to match the frequency of each of the 14 major energy meridians of the body according to East Asian medicine.
